Dan Ralescu is a Professor of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cincinnati. His research interests range from the algebraic system theory to statistics and probability with vague data.

 He is the coauthor of 7 books and more than 70 research articles. He held various visiting professorships in Germany, France,and Japan, and he travels widely giving lectures about his research.

In his free time, Professor Ralescu plays cello with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra.
